 Ascension
The feast of the Ascension takes place on a Thursday forty days after the great feast of Easter. It recalls the return of Jesus to our heavenly Father. It is an important day because of the theological truth it bears; that Jesus at his ascension takes with him his full human nature into the presence of God for all eternity. The Church rejoices that it now has a high priest who is able to represent humanity and to pray for us for ever. The liturgical colour for this festival is white or gold.
